There has been one further Covid-19 death reported in Northern Ireland over the past 24 hours, the Department of Health has confirmed.
It takes the total number of deaths to 542.
There have been two positive cases reported in that timeframe, bringing the overall number of people to have contracted the coronavirus to 4,854.
To date, there have been 59 deaths in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon borough, with 33 fatalities reported in Newry, Mourne and Down.
Meanwhile, Dr Gabriel Scally, president of the Epidemiology and Public Health section of the Royal Society of Medicine, said it could take two months for cases across the island of Ireland to reduce to zero.
“The end is in sight,” he told BBC Radio Ulster’s Talkback programme.
“I’m worried about the virus in the community.
“We really need to know how many cases of the virus are circulating.
“The spread will continue until all of the cases are traced.”
