A pensioner was left very badly shaken after she was confronted by a woman and a teenage boy during a distraction burglary at her south Armagh home last night (Tuesday).
Detectives investigating today issued an appeal for help after the incident at Belleeks, which happened at around 7.30pm last night.
While not connected, it came within an hour of a pensioner being robbed of his wallet by an intruder at his home in Loughgall.
The incident at Belleeks happened in the Oliver Plunkett Park area.
The elderly woman heard someone in the hallway of her home and went to check, where she discovered a woman and young boy standing in the hall.
The woman claimed the boy – believed to be in his teens – was unwell and asked if she could have a glass of water for him.
The pensioner asked the pair to step outside the house while she went into the kitchen.
But when she returned she again found the two intruders were back in her hallway.
The woman then escorted both from her home.
It is believed they had a grey car waiting in the estate, which they left in.
The woman is described as being between 45/50 years of age, approximately 5’/5’2” tall, of medium build, with blonde/fair hair, tied up in a bun and wearing a grey dress with a pattern on it. The dress had a belt around the waist.
The young boy is described as being approximately 14/15 years of age, with short fair hair, very slim build and wearing a red hoodie.
It is not believed anything has been stolen but the pensioner, while not injured, was left very badly shaken.
Detective Constable David Skillen would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed these two people or this grey car to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime, Ardmore on the non-emergency number 101.

Police would appeal to all elderly residents to ensure their doors are secure at all times and to the general public who have elderly neighbours to check on them regularly.
