An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of assaulting his partner because he needed his sleep.
Sebastian Slowinski, 25, of Beech Grove, Portadown did not appear as he was charged with common assault and criminal damage at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Court heard that on May 29, police responded to a domestic disturbance in the Portadown area.
They spoke with the alleged injured party who claimed that she had been assaulted by her partner and had been left with an injury to her left arm.
She said she had suffered this after the defendant allegedly pushed her into the rear door of the property.
Court heard that Slowinski was also alleged to have damaged a door at the address by kicking and punching it.
It was also outlined that when interviewed, the defendant accepted that he had committed the offences for which he was charged.
Court was informed that he told police his partner and their child were making noise and he really needed to sleep.
Slowinski said he had told his partner to go to his mother’s house with the child but she refused.
District Judge Bernie Kelly issued an arrest warrant for the defendant as she felt he needed to be present if he were to be sentenced.
