A county Armagh care home which shut suddenly on Thursday is to be investigated by police.
Glenview Care Home in Portadown after an inspection report deemed the facility not fit for purpose.
The Regulatory and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) carried out an unannounced inspection on Thursday.
Approximately 20 residents were living in the home, however, their care will now fall under the remit of the Southern Health Trust.
The BBC report that earlier today (Friday) police confirmed the allegations were being “jointly investigated” by the PSNI’s Public Protection Branch and specially trained social workers from Southern Health and Social Care Trust.
They also confirmed that the “safeguarding of any vulnerable victim is a priority for the PSNI”.
The BBC report also states that the home’s owner, Brendan Breen, applied for voluntary cancellation of its registration this week.
An RQIA report stated that the majority of bedrooms were not well maintained and in a poor state of repair while beds were stained and carpets soiled.
