Proposals for housing on the Dungannon Road in Portadown

A major housing development is being planned in Portadown.

Proposals have been drawn up for a site on the Dungannon Road, with an application for planning approval now lodged with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.

In all, a total of 36 new homes would be built if the project is given the go-ahead. This would comprise 10 detached houses and 26 semi-detached of various sizes. Each would come with a single storey garage.

The plans have been brought forward by Waringstown-based Arona Developments Ltd, with the specific earmarked location described as “lands 60 metres each of 25 Dungannon Road”.

The site is listed in the application as having been previously zoned for housing within the “Portadown settlement limits” as identified in the Craigavon Area Plan.

As well as the housing, the application also includes car parking and associated site works.

There is also a comprehensive landscaping and planting element to the proposals, with open spaces to feature at the heart of this new development.

The proposals will be shortly advertised with a decision expected in due course.
