‘Miracle nobody was killed’ after Portadown bonfire collapses onto road

‘It is a miracle no one was killed or seriously injured’.

That was the thoughts of Sinn Féin Councillor Paul Duffy after a bonfire collapsed onto a main road in Portadown on Friday night.

Councillor Duffy’s comments comes after Edgarstown bonfire collapsed while a blazing inferno/

“Those attending the bonfire, residents and homes on the other side of the peace wall as well as motorists were all placed in danger as the towering inferno collapsed,” said Councillor Duffy.

“It’s long past time the PSNI, Housing Executive and other statutory agencies took their responsibilities seriously and stop acquiescing to the organisers of these dangerous events before someone is killed.”
