A teenage boy was arrested during last night’s police operation in the area of the Meadows in Portadown.
Police had to move in to disperse a crowd of up to 40 young people.
As Armagh I reported last night, community representatives also moved in to try and speak to those who had congregated.
Police had earlier warned they would be taking a ‘no nonsense’ approach to this area.
They later confirmed that a 15-year-old boy had been taken into custody.
He was arrested at Meadow Lane on suspicion of disorderly behaviour and three assaults on police officers.
Once again the PSNI warned parents to know where their children are, posting via social media: “If you’re not sure where your child is at or what they’re doing and are worried they could get themselves in bother, it might be time to find them.”
It was an appeal which had been echoed by local UUP Councillor Julie Flaherty who said it was time for calm cool heads.
