A Portadown man who was involved in a high speed police chase will have to wait until the New Year to be sentenced.
The 21-year-old has been disqualified during the interim whilst a pre-sentence report is prepared.
Kealan Francis Day, of Moy Road, pleaded guilty to not displaying ‘R’ plates, failing to stop for police and dangerous driving at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Prosecution outlined that the offences occurred on the Northway in Portadown on June 24.
Defence solicitor Conor Downey stated: “He is in breach of a suspended sentence but not for driving matters. It is a matter for your worship whether you wish to deal with it today.”
Deputy District Judge Liam McStay commented: “It was a police chase.”
This was confirmed by both the prosecution and Mr Downey. He added that it had involved high speeds.
Deputy District Judge McStay stated: “I am going to need a pre-sentence report in this case”.
The case was adjourned until January 14 for sentencing, Day was disqualified during the interim.
