Rescue crews braved the inclement conditions of Storm Bram to continue their search for missing Portadown man, Andrew Robinson.
Despite weather warnings yesterday (December 9), with directions to exercise caution and remain indoors, rescue crews were out in force – just as they have been – since the Co Armagh man went missing on November 15.
Efforts have been centred around searching the Bann River after Andrew’s car was found near the waterway.
Commenting on the challenges imposed by the weather, Lough Neagh Rescue said the day’s efforts were “extremely demanding, with rising water levels and a much faster flow along the river”.
Unperturbed, they added: “Despite these conditions, our volunteer crew—working alongside our partner agencies Search & Rescue Dog Association – SARDA Ireland North and Community Rescue Service continued their search across the affected areas.
“The determination shown by everyone involved, in such difficult and changing conditions, is truly remarkable.
“We will continue to search, pushing on through whatever the conditions bring.”
They were assisted that evening by Sky Watch NI who provided drones and high-tech search equipment to continue combing the area.
Andrew Robinson, who is around 50 years of age, is described as being 5ft 6in in height, of medium build, with shaved grey hair.
He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, black work boots, and a dark black coat. Family members believe he may also have been wearing a green hoodie underneath.
