Charges relating to an alleged incident earlier this year in which two women claimed they were assaulted by a male brandishing a sword have been thrown out at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Lawrence Malkains (34) from Clendinning Way, Portadown denied all allegations against him which included a charge of possessing a weapon with intent to commit murder on March 26.
The case was listed at the most recent court sitting for a contested hearing.
However, a prosecution lawyer advised neither of the alleged victims were in attendance and attempts to contact them had proved unsuccessful.
Under the circumstances there was no evidence to be offered to the court.
District Judge Francis Rafferty dismissed all matters and told Malkains he was free to go.
