A woman was forced into buying a set of knives off an “intimidating” female who had accosted an elderly lady in a supermarket car park.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon when an older lady was approached by a woman as she sat in her vehicle in the car park of Asda in Portadown.
According to police, this female was pushy and intimidating and was selling packets of knives.
She would not take no for answer which is when one local resident was forced to intervene and buy the knives, handing over her own money to make this female go away.
The ‘seller’ was approximately 25 years of age with short hair and was wearing dark clothes and spoke with a Southern Irish accent.
She was accompanied by an older female who had dirty fair hair and was wearing a red coat. They both left in a dark coloured vehicle.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Did you see this interaction, can you remember either of the females described above or did anyone approach you in similar circumstances yesterday? Please give us a call on 101 if you have any information. Reference number is 493 24/01/19.”
Police are also warning residents to be on the look out for a suspicious dark grey van cold calling in the Richhill area today (Friday).
The male involved spoke with a southern accent.
If anyone spots this man or his van, please get in contact with police on 101 quoting reference 672 25/01/19.
