
Hundreds of tributes have been paid to a beloved and “cherished” Camlough mother-of-one following her devastating passing just days after being wedded to her beloved husband, Jack.
Nicole Clarke (nee Loughran) – who was the proud mummy of little Jackson – passed away on Monday (September 29) following a courageous battle with illness.
According to a death notice, Nicole passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband Jack, parents Anthony and Michelle, her sisters Shineen, Karen, and Courtney, her brothers-in-law Niall, Peter, and Michael, as well as her uncle Martin and aunt Sandra.
The news has sent shockwaves across the local community with many mourning the loss of a remarkable young woman who made an incredible impact on all of their lives.
Among kind words of sympathy, those who knew Nicole described her as a “beautiful soul” and the “best friend there ever was” and a “pleasure to work with”.
Paying their respects, Dorsey Emmets GAC said: “Dorsey Emmets are saddened to hear of the passing of Nicole, niece of our former player and manager Barry Loughran and cousin of former player Miceal. We extend our condolences to Nicole’s family and friends”.
St Killian’s Whitecross GAC also extended their heartfelt condolences to the family, all of whom they will keep in their prayers.
One person said of Nicole: “I loved working with you Nicole. Such a lovely, genuine soul. Thinking of her son, husband and whole family at this extremely sad time. May your gentle soul rest in eternal peace.”
Another added: “Heart-breaking news. Nicole you were a pleasure to work with and I will cherish our many chats over the years, deepest sympathy to Jack all your family and friends. Jackson will have an angel watching over him forever. Sleep easy Nicole.”
According to a Facebook post published on September 23, Nicole was married to her beloved Jack just days before her death.
Nicole will now repose at her home, 18c Quarter Road, Camlough, on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11am to 9pm each day.
The funeral cortege will leave her home on Thursday October 2, 2025, at 10am for an 11am Requiem Mass at St. Malachy’s Church, Carrickcruppen, Camlough.
Interment will follow immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The house is strictly private on the morning of the funeral. Immediate family only.
