There were a number of burglaries reported at homes in Dromintee and Mullaghbawn on Friday evening.
Police in Newry are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of a burglary at a property in the Forest Park area of Dromitee.
Sergeant Wilson said: “A report was received shortly after 8pm on Friday 9th February, that entry had been gained to a house, and a number of rooms had been ransacked.
“At this stage, enquiries remain ongoing to determine if anything was taken.
“It was reported that three men, described as being between five ft five ins in height, and dressed in dark clothing, were seen in the area at around 7.15pm.
“The males were reported to have left the area in a dark coloured vehicle.”
Sergeant Wilson said that officers are also investigating two other reports of burglaries at properties in The Valley area of Mullaghbawn, which were also reported on Friday, February 9.
“It was reported that access was gained to one house and a sum of money believed to have been taken. Access was also reported to have been gained to a second property in the area, and the rooms ransacked.
“Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of these incidents, and we are appealing to anyone who was witnessed any suspicious activity, or who may have any other information which might assist, to get in touch.

Sinn Féin councillor, Mickey Larkin, has urged local people to be vigilant.
The Slieve Gullion councillor said: “Unfortunately, this is the second burglary in as many weeks in the Dromintee area.
“This was a disgusting incident and the family have understandably been left badly shaken.
“I have spoken to the family impacted by this to offer my full support. Everyone has the right to feel safe in their homes and I would encourage people to be vigilant and look out for their neighbours.
“While some valuable information has already been brought forward, I would encourage anyone with information on this crime to bring it forward to the police.”
