Police are appealing for information and witnesses in relation to two arson attacks in Newtownhamilton last night, Tuesday, October 6.

Sergeant Wilson said: “Shortly  before midnight, officers attended a report of a fire at a house at School Terrace in Newtownhamilton together with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, who managed to extinguish the blaze.

“Smoke damage was caused to the entire property, however thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries.

“A car was reported to have been seen leaving the area in the direction of Newtownhamilton.”

Sergeant Wilson added: “As our enquiries continue into both reports this morning, which we believe at this stage may be linked, we are appealing to anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.
