A teenager who stole another male’s scrambler has been told that he has just one month to cough up the £1,750 it was worth.
Court heard the 18-year-old stole the motorbike from an address in Tandragee and it was never recovered.
Nadeem Hossain, of Oliver Plunkett Park in Dundalk, pleaded guilty to using a vehicle without insurance, no driving licence and theft of a vehicle at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
As the charges were read, it was heard that on December 11, 2018, the defendant stole the scrambler motorcycle worth £1,750 from Coronation Street, Tandragee.
Defence solicitor Kevin O’Hare stated: “This was not recovered. There is an issue with restitution and I have spoken to Mr Hossain.
“I ask that he is given time to put his head together to get this money.”
District Judge Paul Copeland said: “He has one month in which to do that.”
The case was adjourned until February 4 for sentencing and restitution.
