A KEADY councillor has accused those who continue to dump toxic waste of showing a blatant disregard for the community.
In this latest incident, fuel cubes were dumped on the Drumherney Road at Derrynoose.
“A total disregard has been shown to the people living in this area,” said Sinn Fein’s Darren McNally.
“People are sick of this type of activity, not only because of its environmental impact, but also the inconvenience to residents of having to manoeuvre around these dangerous obstructions on our roads.
“The Environment Agency has the task of organising the removal of the cubes and the cost of removing this waste ultimately falls on local ratepayers. I would therefore urge anyone who may have seen any of the incidents being carried out to report it immediately.
“I would again call on those responsible for these incidents to cease immediately and show a bit of respect for the local community!”
