Two pensioners have had their homes ransacked and personal items taken in Keady today (Tuesday).
Both men, who live just 100 yards apart, lost their wives in recent times and are highly respected in the local community.
It is the latest in a string of burglaries and attacks at the homes of vulnerable pensioners.
Local Sinn Fein Councillor Darren McNally has urged the community to be vigilant after the raids, which happened at Church Street and Church Place.
He told Armagh I tonight (Tuesday): “As councillor for the Keady area A am very concerned, as this appears to be a growing trend .
“Both houses today belonged to elderly gentlemen, both gentlemen who are still coming to terms with losing their wives.
“To target elderly vunerable people is the lowest of the low.”
Councillor McNally said he would be seeking an urgent meeting with the PSNI in relation to these and other burglaries in recent times.
For now, he has asked that people remain vigilant, look out for their friends and neighbours.
And he wants anyone with information to come forward to bring those responsible before the courts.
The burglaries come just four weeks after Milford pensioner Muriel Diffin was burgled, as she laid her husband, Espie, to rest.
Among the personal items taken then was a gold ring, with a red stone, which her husband had given to her.
Despite widespread appeals, the ring has never been located.
And Bessbrook pensioner Eugene Carr was critically injured at the end of August after thugs broke into his home and stabbed him with a sharp instrument as he slept.
