A Co Armagh GAA club has been given the thumbs up for a new 150-seater stand.
Planners at Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council have recommended giving the green light for Craigavon-based club Eire Og to erect the covered facility at their Pinebank home.
The club, which will celebrate 50 years in existence, have been making huge strides on the field in recent years and this development off the field is further testament to the work going on behind the scenes.
Despite its relatively young history, Eire Og have collected two junior championships and an intermediate title – the latest success back in 2011,
The erection of the 150-seated spectator stand, with two wheelchair spaces, will compliment the clubhouse – also built in recent years.
The stand will be positioned on the eastern side of the main pitch, on the halfway line, of the pitch. The size of proposed stand is 23m x 4m x 3.8m.
The planners will make their recommendation to the ABC Council’s planning committee, although it will be up to that committee of elected representatives – and subsequently the full council – to decide whether or not to accept the opinion to approve.
