Former Crossmaglen and Armagh All-Ireland winning manager Joe Kernan is to be unveiled as the new Ireland International Rules boss.
According to BBC Sport NI, Kernan, 60, looks set to succeed Roscommon man Paul Earley at the helm for the next two years.
Under the recently restructured format, Ireland will play Australia in a one-off game at Croke Park on November 21 before making a trip Down Under in 2016.
Kernan has had an distinguished career, winning Armagh their only All-Ireland in 2002 as well as four Ulster senior football championships.
He was also responsible for five Armagh county club titles, three Ulster club championships and three All-Ireland club titles.
It’s understood former All-Ireland winners Darragh O Se (Kerry) and Padraic Joyce (Galway) will join former Kildare footballer Dermot Earley as Kernan’s selectors.
Australia won last year’s test in Perth by 56-46 and Ireland will be keen to reclaim the Cormac McAnallen trophy on home soil later this year.
