Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Policing & Community Safety Partnership (ABC PCSP) will be hosting acclaimed play, The Current at Portadown Town Hall on Wednesday, November 22 at 7pm.
Written by Pamela Cassells School of Performance founder and Portadown local, Pamela Cassells-Totton, The Current tackles hard-hitting issues around anti-social behaviour and underage drinking.
With an entire cast made up of young people, the play is centred on five teenagers, Claire, Burnsy, Nicky, Jess and Reece as they finish school for the summer.
With a very real perspective, The Current explores the consequences of one of the teenagers encouraging the others to drink alcohol. And as the script progresses the five teenagers start to learn the reality of their behaviours and their lasting impacts.
A tale of love, loss and regret, The Current is beautifully presented with a spine-tingling underscore by acclaimed composer Mark Dougherty.
A growing issue faced by a lot of young people in Northern Ireland, ABC PCSP is encouraging all youth groups or anyone working with young people to come along on Wednesday 22 November at 7pm in Portadown Town Hall and experience the hard-hitting play.
