Don Vappie and Jazz Créole are a quartet led by Don Vappie, the award-winning Créole banjoist/vocalist; considered as one of the best banjoists in the history of New Orleans.
Alongside Don Vappie, we have rhythm guitarist Dave Kelbie a prominent accompanist to many of the world’s leading jazz soloists.
High-in-demand, David Horniblow on clarinet and the powerful and swinging bass player Sébastien Girardot. “Jazz Créole” combines all genres of New Orleans from traditional to modern day funk with the classic early tradition of a string band.
Their album ‘The Blue Book of StoryVille’ was nominated for ‘The best of the beat’ in Offbeat magazine and The Sunday Times Jazz Album of the Year 2020!
