Lace up the running shoes, pump up the tyres, grab the goggles and get ready to swim, ride and run this summer’s South Lake Junior Triathlon!
Children and young people aged 8-17 years are invited to test their sporting limits at the event taking place on Sunday August 25, at Craigavon Lakes.
Starting with a swim, followed by a bike race along a clearly marked route and ending with a run, there will be five age categories with achievable distances to suit each age group. The races will also be chip timed.
“I am delighted that this event is taking place at the South Lake and wish the organisers every success with the planning. If you have a competitive young person keen on pushing themselves to their sporting limits and showcasing their determination and endurance, encourage them to get involved!” commented the Deputy Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Kyle Savage.
Each participant will receive a t-shirt and medal at the finish line and there will be spot prizes on the day! Numbers in each age category will be capped and you will not be able to register on the day.
This event is marshalled and coordinated by Down Triathlon Club with further support from surrounding clubs and community groups.
