Armagh had a few big heads walking around on Saturday as shoppers encountered three great warriors – Cú Chulainn known as the hound of Ulster, Brian Boru the most famous High King of Ireland, a fierce opponent of the Vikings together with a female warrior Goddess Queen Macha who lends her name to this city Ard Mhacha, Armagh, the height of Macha.
The walking tour was part of Fusion Festival and hosted by Armagh I’s winner of Tourism and Hospitality Champion award, Donna Fox, who explored our spiritual past with tales of St. Patrick from the 5th Century and Archbishop Richard Robinson of the 18th Century.
All of these personalities have put Armagh on the map. This was an opportunity to delve into our past in a light hearted journey around our ancient city centre, tapping into our history and heritage.
