Throughout the month of October, getactiveabc is encouraging everyone aged 50 and over to celebrate Positive Ageing Month by getting active, finding a new hobby and meeting new people.
The getactiveabc team is committed to supporting you to keep moving, whatever your age, enriching lives by helping older people maintain independence for as long as possible through healthy lifestyle choices.
Whether it’s low impact activity classes, relaxation with Tai Chi, guided walks, dance, table tennis or netball, the getactiveabc Positive Ageing Month programme of events and activities has something to suit all abilities and fitness levels.
With the focus of this year’s celebration on moving more to live more, there will be opportunities for health checks and plenty of ways to get active and social at the getactiveabc 50+ clubs running across the borough.
Those aged 60 years and over can enjoy generous concessionary rates on leisure membership packages and also avail of free swim sessions at South Lake Leisure Centre, Orchard Leisure Centre and Banbridge Leisure Centre.
The weekly over 50’s clubs are part of the membership package and a great way to try out new activities and make new connections.
