Top country acts to appear at Armagh Barn Dance in aid of two great charities

Marie Curie and Southern Hospice to share in proceeds

A number of Co Armagh businesses have come together to organise a very special toe-tapping fundraiser for two worthy causes.

And they are hoping that the good people of Armagh and surrounding areas will once again show the support for which they are famous!

A barn dance will take place over two nights – with the cream of the crop of the local country and folk music scene.

The event will take place at Value Stores, on the Newtownhamilton Road, Armagh, on Friday and Saturday, August 24 and 25.

And the beneficiaries will be Marie Curie Cancer Care and Southern Area Hospice Services.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “It’s for two charities that are not government funded and unfortunately cancer affects every family, either directly or indirectly.

“We ran it two years ago in May and raised £45,195. There was a huge crowd on the night with over 1000 people.

“We had great feedback with many asking when the next one was.”

Ask no more!!!

There has already been a lot of interest shown and given the acts and the charities it’s clear to see why!

On Friday, August 24, Derek Ryan and his Band will be on stage, with the inimitable Jimmy Buckley entertaining the crowds the following night.

Both Derek and Jimmy will get the crowds up on the floor from 11pm.

But the fantastic Raglan will be providing a supporting warm up slot on each night, on stage from 9pm, so what’s not to like?

Get there early – doors open from 7pm and tickets – priced at just £15 – are available from any of the businesses involved, namely McGeown Transport, Value Stores, CFS Ring Road, Armagh, JH Tyres, PMP Transport and S Curry, Armagh.

Please do come along and show your support – and good luck to all involved!
