Fancy shaking off the January blues? Well, say no more. February is fast approaching and with it comes a whole host of exciting events and activities – all based right here – in the Orchard County.

ABC Culture Conference
Kicking February off in style, ABC Council’s inaugural Culture Conference will take place on February 1, from 9.30am – 5pm.
The event will see artists, activists, civic leaders, politicians, academics and creative thinkers come together in the heart of Armagh City to gather, celebrate, learn and exchange during a day of discussion which will explore the unique relationship between creative processes and the built environment.
A courtesy bus will depart from Portadown Train Station at 9.00am on Wednesday February 1 and will depart from The Market Place after the conference at 4.45pm.

Mike Denver
Mike Denver, one of Galway’s favourite sons, is riding the crest of a wave right in to Armagh City Hotel on Friday February 3 for a night toe-tapping tunes.
His audience is vast throughout Ireland, North and South and he is now making inroads in the the UK with some sell-out concerts in England and Scotland over the past couple of years.

Born to be Wild
One for the kids! Henrietta, a clever young hippo, joins her friends Eddie Elephant, Gilbert Giraffe and Deborah Zebra at The Market Place Theatre on Sunday February 12 at 3pm.
They are going on a journey and they need YOUR help!
Audience participation, games, riddles, sing-along songs and amazing characters are packed into this new and exciting show brought to you by DreamWorld Promotions.

Thank you for the Musicals
Peter Corry mark 30 Years in Show Bizz and he is doing so with an impressive new show aptly entitled “Thank you for the Musicals” which is set to visit The Market Place Theatre, Armagh on Saturday February 25.
In a night of songs from our favourite shows including Les Misérables, Hamilton, Wicked, Six, The Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Mamma Mia! to name but a few.

Science Roadshow

Three for the Road
Three of Ireland and the UK’s most illustrious musicians are touring Ireland February 2021, don’t miss your chance to see Three for The Road in Aonach Mhacha on Sunday February 26.

The Barber of Seville
Ulster Touring Opera returns to the Market Place Theatre for the opening night of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, on Saturday February 4.
Figaro, town barber and jack-of-all-trades, is going to need all his wiles to outwit old Dr Bartolo and make sure true love wins the day.
The production will be sung in English in Amanda Holden’s beloved translation. With vocal fireworks, scheming lovers and one very busy barber, Rossini’s comic opera is bursting with fun, mischief and the world’s best tunes.

It’s back for an incredible 20-Year Anniversary Production at The Market Place Theatre for two nights on Tuesday and Wednesday 14 – 15 January.
