A 20-year-old woman was fined for damaging the door of a hostel in Armagh during a visit to see her boyfriend, a court has heard.
Abbey Floyd, of Killen Park, Castlederg, appeared before Armagh Magistrates’ on Tuesday, charged with criminal damage.
The incident occurred on November 2, last year, after the defendant kicked a door at Linen Court Hostel in the city centre.
The court heard that Floyd had travelled from Dromore, where she previously lived, to visit her boyfriend, who had been assigned the hostel as his bail address.
When the defendant found that he had no interest in seeing her she began kicking the door.
Defence counsel accepted that her “record was not the most pleasing, especially for someone her age”.
District Judge Paul Copeland ordered her to pay a fine of £50 and compensation of £48 within 10 weeks. She was also given an offender’s levy of £15.
