Long gone are the days of trying to remember which bin goes out on which day thanks to a new online service available on the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council website.
This simple facility allows residents from over 100,000 households across the Borough to access their bin collection information which includes collection dates for all bins and kerbside boxes for the next nine months (including bank and statutory holidays) from any mobile phone, tablet or PC.
It also includes useful information on items which can be recycled and where to place them.
All you have to do is visit www.armaghbanbridgecraigavon.gov.uk/findyourbinday, enter your postcode and up pops all the dates which you can see at a glance.
The bin collection calendar can also be printed off for reference for your future use.
“This is a great for our ratepayers,” says Environmental Services Committee Chairman, Alderman Robert Smith. “At the click of a button you can find out what bin goes out when, which will be a great help to residents and enabling our waste collection teams to provide a more efficient service.
“The development of this new online service was a major undertaking for the Council, given the large number of households across the Borough and the different colours of bins and kerbside boxes.
“Before going live the online service was rigorously tested by Council staff to ensure the system operated effectively and I’m delighted to see Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council embracing new technology and producing what is a great step forward in this digital age.”
This new resource can also be accessed via the Council’s free BinOvation App which is available to download via the Apple App Store or Google Play.
The BinOvation app, which has proven to be a great success for residents, provides waste management and recycling information for all households across the Borough and offers advice on what items can be recycled, bin collection schedules and locations of your nearest community recycling point.
The app also allows residents to receive real-time updates about changes to their waste collection services.
