‘Extensive’ footage to be reviewed in Dungannon fatal dangerous driving case

Leanne Thomas

An “extensive” Domestic Incident Report (DIR) is due to be provided to court in the case of a Cookstown man accused of causing the death of his partner in a road traffic collision.

Fifty-year-old Christopher McFadden – of James Street – is accused of causing the death of Dungannon woman, Leanne Thomas by dangerous driving on February 20, 2025.

He also stands accused of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving, use of a car without insurance and having no ‘L’ plates displayed.

Ms Thomas was a passenger in the Ford Ka being driven by McFadden on the day of the collision on the Dungannon Road. Two others were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Providing an update on the case before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court, the prosecution explained that there was an “extensive” DIR issued by the directing officer which was due on August 28.

The DIR is said to include CCTV, photographs, bodyworn and dashcam footage.

District Judge Rafferty agreed to allow four weeks for review of the evidence and returned the case for September 18.
