The latest fly-tipping incident in the a rural spot just a few miles outside Keady is a sickening one.
This is the carcass of a recently deceased cow – dumped without hesitation on the Mountain Lodge Road in Darkley – not the first animal discarded on this road, unfortunately.
The remains were found by a visitor to the area – a cyclist from Meigh enjoying a Saturday morning cycle – in what is normally scenic, pleasant roads.
Sinn Fein Councillor Brona Haughey, who recently reported a large rubbish tip a few miles away in the Fews Forest – said problem lies at the feet of selfish individuals.
“It’s disgusting that a visitor to the area is subjected to this,” Councillor Haughey told Armagh I.
“Despite this I would like to thank the cyclist and the local people who reported it too,” she added.
The carcass has been reported to Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and will be removed as soon as possible.
Words fail me, humans are the problem.
