This is the gruesome sight which greeted residents in Clady earlier today (Thursday).
The image of what appears to be a calf carcass, strung up by its hind legs, was just one of the horrors for residents of the Co. Armagh village.
A fridge freezer, construction waste and bags of household waste were among the items dumped at the roadside.
Sinn Fein councillor for the area, Brona Haughey said those responsible were undoing all the great work carried out by residents in recent months.
“Let’s not pretend that this is a result of our recycling and amenity sites being closed as this is all too common in our area,” said the Cusher councillor.
“At least once a week I am sent images of animals dumped at roadsides, or bags of rubbish in ditches and hedges.
“This is illegal, it’s disgusting, it’s at a huge cost to the ratepayer, it’s lazy and it’s undoing the fantastic work of the whole community who are trying to keep our countryside clean
“I, and everyone who lives here, are fed up with the disgusting behaviour of a small minority of people who persist with discarding their livestock and rubbish everywhere. They are a blight on our communities and need to cease.
“I have passed this on to Council officers. I pity those who have to go and clear this up. Thanks to local residents in Clady for passing this on to me.”
