A five hour open air charity rock and blues concert looks set to be held in Lurgan Park in the summer.
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council owns the park and the organisers have asked for permission to use it as a venue.
The event, by the charity Lifeline Malawi, would be held on Saturday, July 27, from 4pm until 9pm.
The council will consider the request to host the event and has been asked to grant approval in a paper going to its environmental services committee tonight (Tuesday).
Over 300 people are expected to take part over the course of the evening.
The report to committee explains: “The facility will remain open to the public but the area around Lurgan Park fountain will be busier than normal.”
While the concert would last five hours, the organisers require access from noon until 10pm to allow for setting up and dismantling equipment.
The paper adds: “Music will be rock and blues and local singer Niamh Murray will be doing a mix of her own music.
“The organisers would like to request permission to allow local musicians to play music to an audience. Infrastructure will include a stage, there will be no admission charge for the event, however, organisers will be collecting money on the day for Lifeline Malawi charity.”
