An early morning attack which saw one man arrested and another hospitalised happened near a Co Armagh primary school this morning (Thursday).
A 27-year-old man was arrested while an ambulance crew took the injured man to nearby Craigavon Area Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.
The severity of those injuries are unknown at this stage.
The incident happened shortly after 8am in the Grattan Street area of Lurgan, close to the Model Primary School, as children were making their way in.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in Lurgan have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following the report of an incident at Grattan Street at around 8am.
“The man remains in custody at this time assisting officers with their enquiries. A man aged in his 20’s was taken to hospital for treatment to facial injuries.”
