A new drive-thru American diner could be on its way to Co Armagh.
Plans for the development – submitted last year – are to be recommended for approval.
That is the professional opinion of planners at Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and one which will go to planning committee for consideration.
The development has been proposed at the Centrepoint leisure complex at Lurgan.
Plans submitted with the application, which went to council last August, show a drive-thru restaurant, with interior tables and seating.
There is also a raised counter with further seating available, as well as toilet provision. The outlet would be 120 sq metres in size.
The new-build facility would have a glazed finish to the front and the drive-thru consisting of a single serving hatch.
Architects’ drawings show ‘American Diner’ above the main entrance. It would be in keeping with an American theme at a complex where the Hollywood Bar had been located!
Plans for a drive-thru restaurant at the site had been submitted previously, and approved, back in 2012.
This would see the renewal of that approval and indications on papers are that the new restaurant, should the development go ahead, would see three new jobs being created.
