Three men have been arrested following a series of petrol bomb attacks on a block of flats in county Armagh earlier this week.
The Dingwell Flats in the Taghnevan estate in Lurgan were targeted on both Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The men, two aged 23 and one aged 22, from the Lurgan area, were arrested on suspicion of a number offences including arson endangering life with intent, criminal damage, possessing petrol bomb in suspicious circumstances, possessing articles for use with petrol bombs and possession of a class B controlled drug.
All three men have since been released on bail whilst officers conduct further enquiries.
Chief Inspector Jon Burrows said: “Police in Lurgan are determined and committed to creating an environment for local people to live in peace, and we will gather evidence, make arrests and put those responsible for anti-social and criminal activity, before the courts.”
Earlier councillor Liam Mackle said he is determined to help the area and its residents live “free from fear of attack”.
“I have been working with residents in recent times to find lasting solutions to the problems at the flats in Dingwell,” councillor Mackle explained.
“Unfortunately small numbers of criminal and anti social elements are still determined to blight the lives of citizens.
“The Housing Executive have committed to taking a number of measures to improve the Dingwell area and it is important that this moves ahead quickly.
“Attacks such as this serve no purpose.
“Residents deserve to live in a safe environment free from fear of attack.
“Taghnevan has a strong community and I am confident that together we will defeat these elements.
“Anyone with any information about the recent incidents should contact the PSNI or myself.”
