Joining their sentiments, Markethill District 10 added: “We are deeply saddened to learn this morning of the passing of our PM Brother David McCullough.
“Bro. McCullough not only served his private lodge, Lattery Purple Heroes LOL 222, with great dedication during his life; equally he served with distinction as District Master of No. 10, holding the role for twelve years.
“As District Master he headed and supported many positive initiatives that bolstered the District’s growth and development, including the ground breaking twinning with District 10 ‘Ballynafeigh’ in Belfast.
“He was pivotal in the formation and development of the Kilbracks Bible and Crown Defenders JLOL 75, contributing to its success, and also served as District Master of the Junior Institutions Mid-Ulster District 3.
“He took his Orange heritage even further afield as an honorary Deputy Grand Master of Ireland, as which he represented and promoted Orangeism across many Orange Districts, Counties and jurisdictions.
“District 10 Secretary Brother Lewis Singleton said of Brother McCullough, ‘A true Orangeman who served our Institution, both Senior and Junior, throughout his life and a gentleman in every sense of the word.
“It is impossible to think of anyone who gave more devoted service to Orangeism than Davy.’
“District 10 Chaplain Brother Paul McCammon echoed the sentiments, saying of Davy that, ‘he worked tirelessly for the good of the Institution and community in Markethill.'”
David’s funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
