'Strong leadership is central to this mission, and we look forward to seeing fresh ideas, positive collaboration and continued success across all areas of school life'

Newry’s St Joseph’s Boys’ High School have welcomed a new Principal, Mrs Jeaneanne Muckian.

Issuing a warm welcome to the new Principal, the school said a “new chapter begins”.

Mrs Muckian’s appointment marks an exciting moment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider community as “we look ahead with optimism, ambition and a shared commitment to excellence”, they said.

Said St Joseph’s: “The role of a secondary school principal is one of leadership, vision and dedication. It requires not only the ability to inspire young people, support staff, and create an environment where every pupil feels valued and encouraged to succeed.

“Our newly appointed Principal brings a wealth of experience, professionalism and a passion for education. We are confident that under Mrs Muckian’s leadership the school will continue to grow as a place of learning, achievement and opportunity.

“This appointment comes at an important time in education, where schools play an even greater role in supporting young people academically, socially and emotionally.

“Strong leadership is central to this mission, and we look forward to seeing fresh ideas, positive collaboration and continued success across all areas of school life.

“To Mrs Muckian we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes as you begin your exciting journey. We look forward to working together to build on the school’s strength and shape a bright future for all our pupils.

“Congratulations and every success in your new role.”

Mrs Muckian replaces Mr Declan Murray, who had been Principal since 2015.
