Former south Armagh pub for auction – and it could be a bargain buy!

Commercial or residential "potential uses" for vacant Newtownhamilton property

A former south Armagh pub is to go under the hammer.

And potential new owners should not have have to fork out an arm and a leg!

Tom McVerry’s former pub at Newry Street in Newtownhamilton will be sold at public auction at Stormont Hotel later this month.

The property still has the bar fittings intact, despite closing a number of years ago.

The stone-clad property with pink-painted upper floor certainly catches the eye.

And now with a guide price of around £55,000, it is hoped that a new owner can be found.

The property is being billed as “ideal investment opportunity”, having “various potential uses”, either commercial or residential.

According to the auctioneer – BRG Gibson Auctions – the property is set on a substantial plot with a self contained two bed apartment on the first floor.

It boasts an enclosed yard, kitchen facilities and large lounge area.

The auctioneer is confident that the property will sell.

For anyone interested, the auction takes place on Tuesday, June 26, getting underway at 7.30pm.
