Police are warning motorists who indulge in antisocial driving, particularly in the area of Silverwood Industrial Park, that they will be patrolling and monitoring the situation and will deal with any offences that come to their attention.
Constable Kevin Crossey, Lurgan Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We have received a number of reports in relation to antisocial driving in Silverwood. This has included reports of dangerous driving, cars skidding, racing and doing donuts. This is unacceptable, particularly in an area which is close to a number of residential developments.
“Not only are drivers taking risks with their own safety but they are also endangering people who are travelling through or walking in the area. This doesn’t take into consideration the disturbance these cars are causing for people living nearby in relation to noise.
“We will be conducting regular patrols of the area and adopting a zero tolerance approach to any offences.
“I would also encourage anyone who witnesses activity of this nature to make a note of the make and registration of cars involved and contact us straight away on 101.”
