Planning permission has been granted for the construction of 35 dwellings in the vicinity of 7 Swallowfield Court and 70 Clendinning Way, Portadown, with the inclusion of public open space.
Planning approval had previously been granted for the housing development, however the applicant was seeking approval for revised house types, siting and access arrangements.
The planning application was lodged by David McMaster, Mahon Industrial Estate, Portadown, on behalf of R. Scott, Saintfield Road, Lisburn.
In their report, ABC planning officers explained they were satisfied with the revised planning application: “The form and detailing of the proposed dwellings is respectful of the surrounding general character of dwellings, such that the proposed dwellings will not be detrimental to, or represent an incongruous feature in the local visual resource.
“The design and layout will not create conflict with adjacent land uses, and there is no unacceptable adverse effect on existing or proposed properties in terms of overlooking, loss of light, overshadowing, noise or other disturbance.
“Officers are of the opinion that that the proposal will create a quality and sustainable residential environment.”
