Education Minister John O’Dowd has approved a development proposal to increase enrolment at St Brigid’s Primary School in Glassdrummond, Crossmaglen.
The school will now have a classroom for each year group.
Commenting on the decision, the Minister said: “I am approving a modified increase to the approved enrolment at St Brigid’s Primary School to 198 pupils to increase the school size to the seven class range.
“This will provide the school with one classroom for each year group which the sustainable school’s policy recognises as the optimum size for a primary school.
“I am further modifying the development proposal to September 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.”
