POLICE in Armagh are advising motorists of traffic restrictions in the city this Thursday, February 14, as the 23rd Annual International Road Race takes place.
Some 1,500 competitors are expected to take part in the event, which centres around the Mall. It is due to begin at 6.30pm and last until 9.30pm.
Mall West will be closed to southbound traffic (Dungannon to Newry), with motorists diverted along the Portadown Road and Tower Hill. Mall East will be closed, with access for residents only.
Mall West will be open to northbound traffic. The Courthouse and Gaol Square ends will be coned to facilitate runners, which may cause disruption to traffic flow.
Police are asking motorists to be aware of competitors and spectators and drive with care. Motorists travelling through Armagh should also allow extra time for their journey.
