The first of the three people who died in the Boxing Day collision between Dungannon and Cookstown has been named locally.
He was father-of-four Patrick Rogers, who is understood to have come from the Cookstown area.
Mr Rogers, who was in his 20s and a past pupil of Holy Trinity College in Cookstown, was the driver of one of two vehicles which were involved in the collision on Monday afternoon.
He was married to Shannon and was a devoted dad to four very young children, five-year-old Alannah, Eimear (four), Dylan (three) and baby Eli, who was just four months old.
According to a death notice shared by Cookstown-based KM Quinn Funeral Directors, Mr Rogers will be “sadly missed by all his extended family and friends”.
A son of Noel and Geraldine, he was also brother of Shannon and brother-in-law to Ryan, uncle to Noah, Corey and and Brianna, son-in-law of James and the late Mary Duffy, grandson of Gerald and Rose O Boyle and the late James and Bella Rogers.
Tributes are already being paid to Mr Rogers.
One friend described him as “one of the best funniest lads ever and a real gentleman”.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be confirmed.
The names of the other two casualties of the A29 Boxing Day collision – a woman in her 80s and another in her 50s – have yet to be confirmed.
A woman in her 20s and four children were taken to hospital for treatment after Monday’s collision.
