Planning approval is being sought for a major housing development in Scarva.

Proposals by Joan Baird, with an address in Ballycastle, have been lodged with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.

Outline planning permission was granted for the multi-million pound scheme back in 2018.

And now a reserved matters application was been made in the hope of getting the development – on what is listed as a “greenfield site” – off the ground.

The agent for the proposals is Clyde Shanks and the site is described in the application as being on “lands to the south and east of Glenloughan Park and lands to the south of Scarvagh Heights”.

It is proposed to build a total of 37 new houses. In total, 35 of these will be three-bedroom properties with two four-bedroom houses.

And the 37 would comprise of 28 semi-detached homes and nine detached.

The proposals also include an area of public open space, as well as landscaping, vehicle access and “associated development”.

A total of 96 parking spaces will be provided to service the needs of future tenants of the new houses.
The application is now with ABC Council and will be advertised shortly.
