A man has appeared at Newry Magistrates’ Court charged with the seizure of £200,000 of cocaine in Keady on Friday.
David Agnew, 39, of Carbry Heights, Keady was making a first appearance this morning, confirming his name, address and date of birth.
Police officers entered Agnew’s house with a warrant before asking him if there was anything they needed to know about.
The court heard he indicated there was but when questioned further, he replied “you’ll have to find it”.
A police officer told the court that, during the search, officers found between €190,000 and €200,000 in a footstool in the living room.
They also found between £40,000 and £50,000 sterling wrapped in bundles of £1,000 in a bedroom.
2.5kg of cocaine was discovered in the roofspace, alongside a handgun, bullets and a silencer.
Agnew was remanded in custody until March 8, where he will appear back in Newry Courthouse.
