Barclays bank in Portadown is to be shuttered in yet another blow to the high street.
The High Street branch is one of two in Northern Ireland – the other on Bow Street in Lisburn – set to be closed permanently, along with the associated ATM, in the summer.
The latest closures come on top of the 55 branches Barclays announced were closing earlier this year.
The branch will close for good on Friday, July 28. The nearest branch will be Newry or Belfast.
HSBC is also set to close their Portadown branch, based on Meadow Lane, in June.

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, said: “I have been liaising with [Barclays] and unfortunately this decision is based on the decline of walk in customers and a change in how people choose to bank.”
According to Barclays, less than 10 customers use the Portadown branch regularly as the only way to do their banking, with 93% of customers using off-site banking methods.
Said Ms Lockhart: “Unfortunately it has made it almost impossible to create a case for remaining however I have been pressing for support for local customers to be put in place.
“They are encouraging people to consider you local Post Office with the closest located 23 West Street, Portadown, a short distance away.
“If you have any concerns or queries please get in touch and I will raise them directly with management.
“Whilst banking has changed for many it has not for everyone and it is time for big banks to recommit to our town centres and support their customers who are vulnerable and not able to access alternative banking services easily.”
